    3. I picked up on this from the Wigtownshire's People Facebook page. I wish I had something to contribute, but I don't think my large McCULLOCH ceramic platter will suit! Mary ____________________________________________________________________________ Here's a wee message from Fran at <http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.happysnail.net&h=mAQFVOL77AQEMY-6COOQaeOsl78T0wBv7AN-uO79karF4JA&s=1>www.happysnail.net, can anyone help her out? : As you may know, I am an extreme knitter using HUGE needles and 'yarn' made from clothing, blankets etc.... I am asking people to donate small objects to me that hold a memory of a person from Wigtownshire or an event in their lives that happened in Wigtownshire. Small beads from a wedding dress, a button from grannies favourite coat, a buckle from a shoe.....anything with a special meaning that can be sewn into the hanging. I am also looking for material to use as the base of the hanging. I will be cutting it into strips, sewing the strips together and then making a 'ball of yarn'. I already have had a kilt donated! When I am given an item, I want to record who has given it to me and why it is important to them. The records of the items and the stories they hold will be kept in a folder/booklet with the hanging and will be a permanent record of memories and the people who make Wigtownshire so special and unique. The finished article will be donated to the Whithorn trust as a piece of social history. If you have anything you would like me to include please let me know. The stories of everyday people are a huge part of our history! Fran
