Her husband William Clave died apparently in Florida after living with Gladys in New York. Don't know if they were living down there at the time or visiting. Her marrying a "Gilbert" is confusing as it might be his first name, last name or, as mentioned transcribed wrong. your suggestion of calling may yield some results, but its been quite a bit of time and I think I will try and see what that address is i.e. a house, or care home before I do. Her father (Alex) was a brother to my mom's father. I'll see what I can find out with the address listed.
