Did William Clave originate or have ancestry there? I see that Nancy has provided some good information. The only thing I can add right now is my thought that Gladys may not have married a GILBERT. If the information giving her family name as GILBERT was a transcript, I suggest that you obtain a copy of the original document to check if Sivert has been incorrectly transcribed as Gilbert. I've seen so many hand-written records and so many accompanying transcription errors that I can picture just how such an error could occur. Of course the error could be the other way around, but if Gladys had Swedish parents as suggested, SIVERT may be the better fit.
