    3. Hi, I wrote this message to person called Scotire, but I would like an answer from anyone who knows how I would go about finding out the ownership of Drummoral after Patrick died (abt 1714). I am not sure of what time period you are looking at, but William Coltrane of Drummoral (1650 to 1708) may have had a mental breakdown in the few years before he died. (He was thought to have persecuted the Convenanters of Wigtown in the late 1600's, but not every historian agrees with this.) In the Historical Sketches of Wigtown, it states "Yet 19th May 1706 Coltrane was 'giving himself to the devil' with Drink & Swearing." I am very interested in Drummoral in that I don't know who received this land after William's only son Patrick (abt 1680 to 1714) died. McKerlie suggests that of his children, only 4 survived to majority: Henrietta, John, Patrick and David. John was killed at the Battle of Prestonpans in 1745 and David sailed to North Carolina before 1738. (No info on Patrick...may have also come to America.) If anyone knows what I need to do to find out who received the Drummoral of Whithorn property during this time period, please let me know. Thanks so much. Dorothy Coltrin BTW Drummoral is a farm not very far from Whithorn in Wigtownshire. The Google book of McKerlie mentions the farm belonging to the Parish of Whithorn on p. 471 of volume 2. Actually there is mention of a John Coltran alive in 21 Jun 1782, but I have no idea who this would be as the son of Patrick Coltran by the name of John m. Christina Heron about 1728 and then he d. in 1745. Boswell met his wife in 1762 in Kircudbright and mentions her in his papers. On Jan 11, 2013, at 6:02 PM, scotire wrote: > Session Bk.
