Type Sheridan into the top box (surname) That will take you to a page of results, the very top one should be the death of John Sheridan with father Peter in Penningham The email address of the person who listed it is at the end of the row on the table. It may be a relative who posted it or it may just be someone researching other Sheridan lines who downloaded the cert in their search and they may not be able to tell you anything. But if it is a relative maybe they will have more info. It's worth an email to see i would think. For the Igi click this link..... https://familysearch.org/ It will take you to the igi search engine. In the (last name) box type Sheridan then underneath click where it says parents in blue writing That will open another set of boxes Into the (fathers first name) box type John Into (mothers surname) box type Pringle On the result page it should give you multiple pages the top 10 results or so should be for this family in scotland. The rest may be unrelated but may be worth a look through as.sometime it can relate to families from scotland emmigrating to USA, Canada etc which can be helpful. * You can restrict the search more by entering scotland or wigtown or whatever in the birthplace box in the initial search aswell * but i usually cast my net wider and narrow it down as i need to. I find on a lot of older records there can be spelling discrepancies so often putting less info into the search engine gets better results because either mistakes in the documents or mistakes transcribing can limit the search results ie elisabeth or elizabeth or liz or eliz etc can often be found in results and if you specify the exact spelling some can be missed so i often put eli* in the search bar to catch more at the same time with these kind of names. I hope that is clear and it helps you. Unfortunately i couldnt put a direct link to either of the results pages as it just kept going to a blank result page or back to the initial search page, but if you do the above it should work. Good luck. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. If you would like to reply to them, please click on the Message Board URL link above and respond on the board.
