    3. Yes, they are the same, i.e. the words cut into the stone placed upon a gravesite. I have seen several references to "monumental inscriptions" are these what we call "tombstones inscriptions" in most of the US and my wife's cousin in southern Kentucky calls "rock inscriptions"?
