Commissioners for improving the Portpatrick harbour. - Mr Caird held various important situations in the county of Wigtown, in one and all of which he distinguished himself by his ability, perseverance, and attention. His death is justly lamented by his near relatives, and by all who had the pleasure of knowing him; and in an especial manner by his brethren of the profession, who looked up to him with that regard and esteem to which he was so justly entitled, and which by his modest and unassuming manners he truly merited."
