"On the 6th curt, at Corwarhill, of the typhus fever, Andrew Milwain, apprentice to Mr William Milligan, painter in Newton Stewart, a young man possessed of promising abilities in his profession, amiable of disposition, and interesting manners, much esteemed by his master, and his sorrowing friends will long cherish a fond remembrance of his worth."
