from The Dumfries Weekly Journal 3rd January, 1826Sourced by Robert Wells "At Garwackie, near Newton Stewart, on the 28th ult, Patrick Hannah Niven, infant son of Mr Andrew Niven, Portpatrick. It was lately our painful duty to announce the death of Mrs Niven on the14th, and of this child's twin brother, on the 16th ult., and we have now to add the third of the family , in the short space of 14 days. How truly may the words of the poet, in his address to Death, be adopted in this distressing case. Within a fortnight- "Thy shafts flew thrice, and thrice my peace was slain." "At Low Blair, near Wigtown, in the 21st of November last, of a lingering illness, which he bore with true Christian resignation, Mr Henry Walker, writer, aged 34 years. As a gentleman, and a kind-hearted neighbour, his memory will long be cherished by an extensive circle of friends and acquaintances." Diana Henry
