There is something wrong with my computer so that I can't access links/urls, so more time spent trying to unsnarl this. However, even copying and pasting to Google did not get me to the link. I am curious, therefore, about who this John McLean might have been. My great-great grandfather John McLean was born 1792, m. Agnes Wallace (1794-1861), 1811. Their daughters were Agnes McLean, my great-grandmother, who lived in Gorbals (Arthur Street), Newton Stewart, Wigtownshire. Her sisters were Elizabeth and Helen (Ellen) McLean, I believe. Agnes McLean married James Hyslop Clint and at some point they moved to Auchencairn, Kirkcudbrightshire, where she died comparatively young by today's standards. I was trying to reach someone who had posted on an enquiry from a few years ago. Evidently I'm not being messaged when someone responds to a post. I think it's pretty old but just to clarify our McLean information here's the line I'm following: Jacob McLean b. Londonderry 1813 d. 1904 buried at Stonykirk m Elizabeth Thomson b. 1816 Stonykirk d. 1907 High Ardwell, Stonykirk William McLean b. 1838 Portpatrick d. 1920 Awhirk Farm, Wigtownshire m Charlotte Wilson b. 1841 Glenluce d. 1925 Terreagles (?) James McLean b. 1861 Kirkmaiden by Drummore d. 1920, Creetown, Wigtownshire m. Agnes Laughlin (Lauchlin?) b. 1863 Knockeen, Kirkcolm d. 1940 Creetown Alexander McLean b. 1891 Camrie Farm, Old Luce d. Toronto Canada 1973 m Barbara McQueen b. 1894 Newton-Stewart, Wigtownshire d. 1936 Toronto Each of those had numerous children except Alexander who had two in Canada - one of which was George McLean who immigrated to the US. I am married to his son, Robert. I'd love to get connections if anyone sees one -our brick wall is Jacob who we can find nothing on beyond the listing of his birth on his marriage certificate as being Londonderry. I know there were McLeans in the area before that time but I haven't been able to connect to them either. Any suggestions are appreciated.
