Both in Stoneykirk, Wigtonshire. Did they marry locally, move away, die there? I can find nothing on them. Also, a brother, John c.2 Oct 1821. Did he die young? as there is another brother, John, c. 14 June 1834. Thankyou for your help. Joan" Hi Joan, Further to the IGI information posted by Wayne, here are the OPR records from which the IGI records were extracted I have used a slash to indicate where columns have been used, and have not expanded abbreviations. The following two baptism records are transcribed from the LDS film of the Inch OPR: Robert Henry / Lawful Son to John Henry Taylor and Jean Gunion at Bridge Town Lochans was born 14th Novr and Baptized 20th currt 1819 John Henry / Lawful Son to John Henry Taylor & Jean Gunion in Bridge Town Lochans was born 28th Septr 1821 and Baptizd 2d of October Note that the IGI also has a J. HENRY born 28 Sep 1820. I believe that this arises from the original entry of the above record having been mistakenly entered at the bottom of a page which chronologically is amongst 8 births during December 1820. An attempt to erase this record has obviously been made, some sections more successfully than others. I have transcribed this, using [] to indicate where the original writing has been made unreadable. Some other sections are faint, but legible. J[ ] / Lawful Son to John Henry Taylor & Jean Gunion in Bridge Town Lochans was born 28th September and Baptizd [ ] October 182[ ] It is possible that a child was born to this couple in September 1820, but I figure the above explanation is more likely. The 28th September birth date would be quite a coincidence, and the fact that this record has been erased, (although not entirely successfully), are the basis for my suggestion. The subsequent record for John HENRY was in the correct chronological order. The following records are transcribed from the LDS film of the Stoneykirk OPR: Decr 19th John Henry in this Parish and Jane Gunion in the Parish of Old Luce were enrolled for proclamation of Banns three times first Lord’s Day John Henry & Jane Gunion in Thornbank, had a Lawful Son / William / 1824 7th Mar / 1824 21st Mar John Henry & Jane Gunion in Thornbank, had a Lawful Daughter / Agnes / 1826 29th Mar / 1826 16th Apr John Henry & Jane Gunion in Thornbank, had a Lawful Son / Andrew / 1828 30th May / 1828 13th June John Henry & Jane Gunion in Thornbank, had a Lawful Daughter / Jane / 1831 4th Augt / 1831 a8th Augt John Henry & Jane Gunion in Thornbank, had a Lawful Son / John / 1834 31st May / 1834 14th June John Henry & Jane Gunion in Thornbank, had a Lawful Son / Alexander / 1837 8th May / 1837 22d May John Henry & Jane Gunion in Thornbank, had a Legal Son / Daniel / 1841 15th Jany / 1841 30th Jany Regards, Bruce
