First I want to say how valuable all the postings have been. The notices and newspaper articles are wonderful windows into 19th century life. I am trying to find out more about my g-g-g-grandmother, Mary Stevenson Craney. From what information I have she was born about 1815, although her tombstone states she was born in 1826. That means she was only seven when she married Laurence Craney in January, 1833. According to the census of 1851, she was born in Kirkinner. I find no birth records for a Mary Stevenson, in 1815ish, in Kirkinner. Anyone out there with Stevenson family around Kirkinner Parish. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
