As Promised here is the Obit for Leslie O. Jordan. WFP 1/7/1971:- "Well Known Stranraer man, Mr Leslie O. Jordan (67) died suddenly at his home on Monday morning. An Englishman by birth, he came to the district when his father took up duties as a coastguard at Portpatrick. Mr Jordan was director and sales manager with Messrs James McHarrie (Stranraer) Ltd. He had been with the firm since he joined as an apprentice in 1921 and his valued services were recognised on the occasion of his retiral a few years ago. During the war years he was with the engineering department of the Department of Agriculture for Scotland and was responsible for the tractor services in the Rhins. A keen golfer he was a lifetime member of Dunskey of which club he was a past captain. He was a former winner of the Solway Cup, the trophy played for by the motor trade in Dumfries and Galloway. For several years he was match secretary and starter at Creachmore and his work behind the scenes was tremendous in its enthusiasm and efficiency. Like his father before him, Mr Jordan was a Freemason and Past Master of Lodge Kilwinning No 208. He was also for a number of years treasurer of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Galloway. He is survived by his wife and son. His son Percy and his family now live in Australia where they emigrated in 1969." I hope this is happy for you Jenny in Toowoomba. Diana
