DEATHS WATT, Mary-Ann - D26/5/1855 - At King Street, Stranraer, on the 26th instant, after a protracted illness, Mary-Ann, aged 31 years, eldest daughter of Mr Henry Watt, - much regretted. M'GUIRE/O'NEILL, Margaret - D27/5/1855 - Here, at George Street, on the 27th instant, Margaret O'Neill, aged 70 years, wife of Mr John M'Guire, general merchant. M'CLEW/BROWN, Elizabeth - D29/5/1855 - At Portpatrick, on the 29th instant, Elizabeth Brown, relict of David M'Clew, Esq., - very much lamented by a large circle of friends. M'CLEAN, Dr. - D26/5/1855 - At Gatehouse, on the 26th inst., Dr M'Clean, after a short illness, deeply regretted . Deceased was third son of the late James M'Clean, Esq., Auchneel, near Stranraer. HANNAY, Rev. Peter - D26/5/1855 - At Lochenbreck Well, Stewartry of Kirkcudbright, on the 26th instant, the Rev. Peter Hannay, minister of the United Presbyterian Church, Wigtown. MILLIGAN, Isabella Rigg - D29/5/1855 - At Corsbie, Newton-Stewart, on the 29th inst., Isabella Rigg, daughter of Mr Jas. Milligan, aged nearly 11 years. M'QUIGGAN, Catherine - D23/5/1855 - At Newton-Stewart, on the 23d inst., Catherine, wife of Michael M'Quiggan; and on the 24th inst., Michael M'Quiggan, the husband. Deceased were both interred in one grave on Saturday, in the burying ground connected with the Roman Catholic chapel, and the funeral service of the church was performed over the coffins, in presence of a large and respectable assemblage of the inhabitants who were invited to the melancholy ceremony. THOMSON/LEWARS, Jessie - D26/5/1855 - At her residence in Maxwelltown, Dumfries, on the 26th inst., aged 77, Mrs James Thomson, who some 60 years ago when Miss Jessie Lewars, cheered the sinking spirits and ministered to the wants of a dying poet - Robert Burns. GORDON, Thomas - D16/5/1855 - At Alhaurin, Province of Malaga, Spain, on the 16th inst., Thomas Gordon, Esq., merchant, Malaga, youngest son of the late Rev. Hugh Gordon of Anwoth.
