    3. Hello to everyone on the Wig list! I'm Sue, and I'm exploring my ancestors in the Mochrum area. I live in Southampton, UK. I would very much appreciate any suggestions, advice, information, anecdotes, pictures - whatever you might have to spare me. Always keen to get copies of original documents etc. for permanent record, so I'd always send SAEs etc if wanted. I haven't much to exchange back, I'm afraid - I've not been researching for long, and have a young family taking up my days - it's their history I'm trying to gather, in truth. One day we'll make a holiday trip to this area of Scotland! Here's a synopsis of this section of my family, many dates are approximate: DAVIDSON: My grandfather was Douglas William Dundonald DAVIDSON. (b.1900 in Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk; stationmaster on the London underground nearly all his working life) His father was Andrew Bryde DAVIDSON (b.1867 of Barrachan Cottage House, Mochrum; married Florence Martha MARSH b.1869 in Wells, when was a commercial travellor for a draper and met her at her parents inn; went on to become a station master). He had seven siblings. His father was William DAVIDSON (b.1832 in Mochrum; croft farmer of 20 acres at Barrachan; married Annie BRYDE). He had at least three siblings. His father was William DAVIDSON (b.1804 in Ireland somewhere; shoemaker; married Elizabeth also of Ireland and they then lived at High Milton, Mochrum). I would love to go further back down this line, if possible! BRYDE: My greatgreatgrandmother was Annie nee BRYDE Davidson (she was b.1833 at Carsduchan, Mochrum). She had three siblings (John, Mary, Archibald). Her father was Archibald BRYDE (b.1789 in Mochrum; farmer of 76 acres at Carsduchan; married Mary WILSON b.1796 in Mochrum). He had loads of siblings. His father was Vans BRYDE (b.1761 in Mochrum; farmer at West Barr; married Mary McCULLOCH, daughter of William McCULLOCH). From all the various snippets of info I have looked at, I've put together more members of the BRYDE tree, though it's all a little indirect to my own interests I guess! I would also love to extend back vertically if I can! Incidentally, I gather there is plenty of confusion with the adoption of Mc to the Bryde name? Bye for now, looking forward to getting involved with the group if I can. Will wade the archives next! Sue
