Hi, I am trying to find out what happened to some ancestors and hoping someone may be able to help me. James McTaggart was born in Wigtown in 1795. He married Janet Forlow, also born in Wigtown in 1795, in 1816. James and Janet had 6 children, May/Mary/Marion b 1816, John b 1818, Elizabeth b 1823, Janet/Jessie b 1826, Catherine b 1829 and William b 1832. The 1841 census shows the family living in Wigtown. The 1851 census shows James, Janet, Elizabeth, Catherine and William living in Wigtown. I believe May married and left home, John died in Valparaiso in 1850 and I don't know what happened to Janet. James, Elizabeth, Catherine and William migrated to Australia in 1858. Janet Forlow did not accompany them, so I assume she died between 1851 and 1855. Any help in tracking down these missing relatives would really be appreciated. Regards, Steve, Sydney, Australia.
