Hi Diana & Randy, Re the BIRTHS item: CUMMING, Female - B?/?/1855 - At Stenhouse, parish of Sorbie, on the ? / ?? (the wife of ?) Cumming, of a daughter. This birth was 20 March 1855. Stenhouse is an alternate spelling of Stonehouse. On visiting my Wigtownshire rellies, I found the former to be closer to the correct (local) pronunciation. The mother was Jean WYLIE, wife of Alexander CUMMING. The child was named Annie. Sadly, she died 22 August 1856. My interest in this is that Jane WYLIE's sister, Mary WYLIE, was my gg'grandmother. Regards, Bruce
