This venerable lady was daughter of the late William Kirkpatrick of Conheath, a younger branch of the family of Kirkpatricks of Closeburn. The deceased was aunt to the Countess de Montejo, the mother of Eugenie, present Empress of France and therefore grand aunt to that distinguished personage.
