    3. Hi, Laurie -- We corresponded last summer. Were you able to get in touch with Vicki Ellis? Bruce and I did some research on your family for Vicki back in 2005: http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ifetch2?/u1/textindices/S/SCT-WIGTOWNSHIRE+2005+23855492284+F http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ifetch2?/u1/textindices/S/SCT-WIGTOWNSHIRE+2005+25715891672+F Did you find Laurence and Mary in 1841? There were enumerated as CRONNIEs: Piece: SCT1841/889 Place: Kirkinner -Wigtownshire Enumeration District: 6 Civil Parish: Kirkinner Ecclesiastical Parish, Village or Island: Kirkinner Folio: 6 Page: 7 Address: Kildarroch ---------- Surname First name(s) Sex Age Occupation Where Born Remarks CRONNIE Laurence M 25 Agricultural Labourer Wigtownshire CRONNIE Mary F 30 Wigtownshire CRONNIE Eudard M 7 Wigtownshire CRONNIE Sarah F 6 Wigtownshire CRONNIE Jane F 4 Wigtownshire Remember that in the 1841 census, people who were at least 15 were supposed to have their ages rounded DOWN to the nearest multiple of five. That means Mary could have been anywhere between 30 and 34. If your grave info is from an MI transcription, the stone may well read 1816, not 1826. There were two STEVENSON families in 1841 Kirkinner. You can find them at http://freecen.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl. Back in 2000, Trevor Smith <tsmith@shoal.net.au> was researching the John and Letisha SOMERVILLE STEVENSON family. According to Trevor, their daughter Letisha Jr. married William McCLELLAND. You can find these McCLELLANDs in 1841 Kirkinner at Barness. In 2002, Jan McKenzie <jangary@shoal.net.au> also expressed interest in John and Letisha's family. Hope this gives you some new leads -- Mary Richardson At 01:55 PM 2/17/2007, you wrote: >First I want to say how valuable all the postings have been.
