Just checked dates and interesting to see that Edward Tyrrell an emigrant from UK established his first vines in the Hunter Valley in 1858. Coincidentally, on my husband's side some of the Beattie/Moffat/Carswell/Osborne/Nicholson group from North Cumbria (probably Scots origin) moved to Liverpool area, but so far we only know of the Osbornes (Solway Firth dwellers back to the 1600s) emigrating to Melbourne and we are in touch with their descendants.
