Thank you Diana! Catherine and Michael McQuiggan are my gggg grandparents - otherwise known as McGUIGAN. I've been waiting to see them in your BMDs and, finally, here they are. I believe their gravestone is still standing in St Ninian's churchyard in Newton Stewart. One of my cousins took a video recording of our McGuigan and Doherty ancestors gravestones on a visit to Newton Stewart a few years ago. It would be interesting to find out what they both died from, just a day apart. I have a copy of the 2 entries in the register of deaths for 1855 but it doesn't give the cause of death.
