Linda: As soon as I read the death detail I thought "diabetes"...even before I read further. It can be a hazard with this inherited disease due to lack of blood supply to the affected limb/s, usually the legs.. When not under control, often in the elderly/bedbound, the worst case scenario sadly is gangrene.. Diabetics should take care with their feet, especially cutting their toenails!
