If it gives the parents names for John and Elizabeth, it would make it easier to identify them in census records for 1851 and 1841. Scotlandspeople shows an Elizabeth CRON or Pettigrew died in Whithorn parish in 1899, age 66. This matches an Elizabeth Pettigrew born 1833 in the parish of Inch. She is probably at High Dargolls, parish of Old Luce, household 10/19 in the D&GCIS transcipt of the 1851 census at http://www.dumgal.gov.uk/HistoricalIndexes/census.aspx#search Her father and siblings are at Mark Cothouse, parish of Inch, household 7/27. This family are at Mark, Inch parish, ED 7, page 11, in the FreeCEN trascript at http://freecen.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl although their name appears there as PELLYESCUR. The farm name where Agnes McWHIRTER was resident at the time of her 1888 marriage, was likely to be Cutreoch, which is about 1 mile SW of the Isle of Whithorn.
