One of my cousins (now deceased) said her grandson visited Ireland and had a hard time finding the McMichen name but she did mention he found the name spelled with an "a" instead of an "e" when he found it. We are all looking for the parents of John Hiram. He was born in SC 1805, we think Spartanburg but none of us can find anything for sure.
