Hi all, Are there any MI's for Stoneykirk? I am looking for a death and hopefully an MI for an Agnes McKinna (MS Lavery) between 1851 and mid to late 1853.She was born at Stoneykirk, might be buried with her family. I was sent the 1851 Census for her, married to a John McKinna living in Catrine,Sorn but she is not in the 1861 Census.John was 36 in 1851 and Agnes was 22 I have a marriage for John McKinna to my Ann Campbell Dec 1853 before they came to Australia in 1854. Ann was pregnant prior to coming here as the baby was born on board. They left Liverpool in July. Hope someone can help. Thankyou Cheers Chris OZ
In the Stoneykirk MI booklet I have it lists at entry number 144 an Agnes McKenna who died 13th December 1860 aged 31 years. She is buried with her mother Ann McKenna, who died 9th April 1868 aged 60yrs. Her brother Thomas is also buried there he died 5th March 1862 aged 24yrs. The stone was erected by Ann McKenna's son and daughter. This probably isn't your Agnes , but its the only one listed in the book. There are Laveries buried in Stoneykirk but none named Agnes. Did you try the Ayrshire list for a headstone in Sorn? If she was living there when she died chances are she is buried there too. Also the husband may not have been able to afford a headstone to mark her grave.
