HOPE/AFFLECT, Barbara - D24/3/1855 - At Lammingtoune Manse, on the 24th ult., Mrs Barbara Thomson Afflect, the beloved and affectionate wife of the Rev. Charles Hope, minister, of Wandell and Lamingtoune, to the deep affliction of her bereaved husband and young family. - Mrs Hope was eldest daughter of the late John Afflect, Esq., Palmerstone, Chief Magistrate for the Burgh of Maxwelltown, and was nearly related to the ancient family of Conheath - her mother, Janet Fraser, being cousin to the deceased Mr Kirkpatrick, consul at Malaga, and grandfather of the Empress Eugenie.
