Whilst looking up a record in the Sorbie OPR, I noted this interesting 1798 marriage record: "Thomson John, & Jannet McWilliam, having lived five years in this Parish as Man & Wife, & the Session being now persuaded that they were single people when they went together, caused them to comit a declaration, in their presence of their being husband & Wife. They are now considered as married people March 18th" Regards, Bruce
