M'CORMICK, Alexander - D8/12/1855 - At No 28, Ardwick Green, Manchester, on the 8th instant, Alexander M'Cormick, Esq., Gate of Bolton, much and justly regretted. (Mr M'Cormick, was eldest son of the late Mr James M'Cormick, formerly farmer in Drumbuie, parish of Kirkcowan, Wigtownshire, N.B.) M'CANDLISH, Wm. - D12/12/1855 - At New Galloway, on the 12th instant, suddenly, Provost Wm. M'Candlish, aged 76 years. He had been in business there as an architect and contractor for upwards of 50 years, in which capacity he was extensively known and highly respected, and for seven years previous to his death he discharged the duties of Provost of the Burgh, much to his honour and the satisfaction of the inhabitants.
