>From Wigtown Free Press 21/9/1876 DEATHS BLACK, Peter - D27/7/1876 - Drowned off the Cape of Good Hope, on the 27th July, Mr Peter Black, son of the late Captain Black, Isle of Whithorn, and chief officer of the ship "Prince Patrick" of Liverpool. - Deceased, who was only in his 21st year, was a young officer of much promise, and his premature death is deeply regretted. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved parents.
