I have since found his father was James and his mother Eliza/Elizabeth nee Douglas. I have looked at the marriage cert of John but no birth place and Eliza's death cert. also no birth place. On Ancestry it was written that John was born at St Andrews Nevtin Ceardo Ireland. I have asked around and no such place exists could it be Newtonards? Where do I go from here?
