Many thanks to all the listers who responded in finding a picture of the Galloway Flail. Always interested in how our ancestors did things and particuliar knowing about early Smith work. As for Haggis, I have a recipie for that, but I suspect a pot of Kale would be more to my liking. I spent two weeks in Scotland in 2000 traveling about the country seeing how they made things that I always wanted to know. Enjoyed it all, but I failed to ask why there were so many seeming wild rabbits huddled up against the stone fences by the roadsides that I traveled. Could it be they are a potected species? Thanks all, William.
