Hi all, John McKibband (McKibbon etc) and Margaret Gibson had several children born in Stoneykirk and Kirkmaiden. I'd come across one of these, Mary McKibbon born in 1762, and thought she might, on a long shot, be the one I was looking for (married to James Blain in Inch in 1780s). The marriage of Mary's parents, John McKibbon/McKibband and Margaret Gibson, shows they were both in Stoneykirk at the time of the marriage (1755), had the banns called there, but were married by Robert Findlay minister of Inch.
