A John McMeckan was born in Glasgow on 12th March 1931 to John McMeckan and Rebecca Hopewell. He married Patricia McMahon in Glasgow on 4th September1954 but were divorced in 1959. No further trace found in Scotland but maywell be still alive. Best wishes Ian A McClumpha' Sadly his date of birth is the same as that of John McMeckan who died in 1980 in Barton, Manchester as found on Ancestry.
