I have been researching Lewis Dalrymple (1794-1843) who married Mary Headley in the US. He is buried in Ohio - where two of the children remained with their families. This is my brick wall! A book published about John indicates that his parents, Lewis and Mary, were born in New Jersey, yet available census records show them to have been born in Pennsylvania. They had four children. John, Ira, and Elvira were born in PA. Pamela was born in NY. The family always refers to our Scottish heritage, but there are so many variables as to Lewis's birth as to where his parents may have been. There seem to be no records about Lewis's siblings. So, I am hoping one of our participants is searching for this match and can help me!
