    1. [WIG LIST] McEacharn Memorial window Sorbie
    2. Diana Hill
    3. Hi. This is my first posting. One of our McEacharn relations was the subject of a stained glass window produced by the English artist Christopher Whall (1849-1924) for the Sorbie kirk, Garlieston. The window is a memorial to Sir Malcolm Donald McEacharn an Anglo-Australian shipping magnate involved in the frozen meat trade. I would really like to include a photo of this window in the family history I am writing and I wondered if one of the Sorbie photographers might be prepared to take a picture of it for me?! I have broard band and can cope with large jpegs. If someone can help me I'd be most grateful. Yours sincerely, Diana (writing from Down Under)

    1. [WIG LIST] CUNNINGHAM
    2. Hi- Wondering if anyone is researching CUNNINGHAM (John and possible bros. Richard & Michael) who was in Nova Scotia by 1740s (involved in settlement of Halifax 1749 and Lunenburg in 1750s). Recently in episode 86 of BBC 7's "A short History if Ireland in 240 Episodes", they mentioned 4 Cunningham families from Wigtownshire in SW Scotland who were given land in the James 1st plantations in 1609 in Ulster- in Co Donegal. Not much detail was given but I have been trying to find the connection from Scotland to Ireland, and think this may be a clue, however tenuous. (A nod's a good as a wink to a blind horse...) Any help appreciated. Just learned this info, and ironically I was in Wigtownshire a year ago while researching the same side of my family's D & G connections down the roade ( Smith in Colvend, Henderson & Duff in Moniave or Holywood). Beautiful part of the world ! Thanks, Thompson in Canada
