    1. RE: estate records
    2. ***************************************************************************** This email and any files transmitted with it are intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed. ***************************************************************************** Estate papers for the Skibo estate only really pick up in the latter part of the 19th century. Prior to that one is facing a distinct challenge. Given the history of debt on the estate, there are references in the Court of Session records. But these are only searchable at the National Archives and even then, a huge challenge. I would never recommend these to anyone without a severe health warning. The sasines, on the other hand, are indexed for the N Highlands (although one has to be careful that a significant number of sasines were registered in Edinburgh rather than at Fortrose). There is a printed abbreviated version of all sasines for 1781-. However, it is only available at a few locations.
