Hello everyone, I was of the understanding that the given name, Christian [Christina], was, until relatively recent times, only used for females. I noticed that Theresa has referred to a Christian in 1772 as 'he'. Was the name also used for Scottish boys in the 18th century? Or would Theresa's Christian have been a woman? Hi Lyndall I think there were male Christians but I have never come across one in Sutherland. Had a good look around the old Kirkyard at St Andrew's, Golspie. The stones there are becoming very worn. Took photograph of a Munro stone which I think is yours.
