    3. G'day all, I am responding to Christine's "gosh it's quiet" and to an earlier request for people to make themselves known, for the benefit of other subscribers. My name is Geoff Anderson and right now I am at home, about 100km east of Melbourne, Australia. My other home, for the past 20 years, is Southeast Asia and it is there that I earn my bread. I will return to Laos immediately after Easter and won't be back in Australia until December. When I am away I get very busy to the extent that I can do little more than scan the Subject box of sites such as this. With a few weeks in Australia I have had the luxury of actually being able to read what people are writing and I am finding it all really interesting even though it is not connected to my own research. Which brings me to the point - My GGG Grandparents were William ANDERSON and Margaret SQUAIR of Brora. My GG Grandparents were George ANDERSON and Elizabeth FRASER. Elizabeth's father was the factor at the Rhives Estate - Golspie until 1800. My G Grand Father was John Fraser ANDERSON aka John William ANDERSON born 1826 or 1830, depending which set of records you wish to believe. At the time of the 1841 and 1851 cenus's (censii??) he was living in the care of Ann McGLASHAN, a Golspie innkeeper. His parents, George and Elizabeth were highly visible in Golspie until 1839 - by the time of the 1841 census, they had disappeared. John ANDERSON came to Australia (in 1853 according to his daughter). His cousins went to Pictou in 1832 and it appears that his parents and siblings may have followed between 1839 and 1841. Sorry to bore those of you that have already heard this story, but I figure if I keep floating it by, someone may eventually recognise some of the characters, and if so, I look forward to hearing from them. Congratulations to all on a great site. Regards, Geoff Anderson
