I can confirm that James Gordon and Jane Mackay were not at Old Rhives in the census of 1811. Old Rhives was a small township. In 1811 there were 46 people living there. I wonder if Springsdale could possibly be Spinningdale which is in Creich parish? Have puzzled over Springsdale but have not ever heard of that name in Sutherland. Anybody know differently?
