William's widow and children walked from Hamilton to Embro, Ontario. I have had contact with the New Zealand branch of the family. Lee - We have a William Sutherland who we believe was born in Sutherlandshire. His birth year was 1808; he is buried in Old Log Cemetery in Embro (died 1858). We know nothing of his siblings. His wife was Euphemia (nee Sutherland) whom he married in Oxford Co. in 1833; children were Barbara, Isabelle, John, Ann, Henry and Alexander.
