Hello Lyndall I think the information given by Cathy on Clunes is most certainly yours. I would say that your Margaret and the junior Gordon Clunes were the parents of the two children. You need to see the Old Parish Register for the births of these two children where you should be able to confirm this. The Kirk Session records should also (undoubtedly) contain information on the birth. These records (when you can find them) are full of detail on illegitimates and 'fornication'! We are currently having trouble finding the Rogart Kirk Session records. I do believe that at least some of the Dornoch Kirk Session records are at the Scottish Record Office.
