    3. The reference number beginning GD referes to documents in the National Archives of Scotland which are housed in Edinburgh. GD numbers are in the section Gifts and Deposits. SP I do not know. The only S number I know is SC which is Sheriff Court records. As you can imagine the National Archives are huge.
