    3. My Donald Gunn was 69 years old when he left Scotland for the Selkirk Settlement in Manitoba, Canada on the second load of immigrants bound for that place. They sailed from Dornoch. The Prince of Wales passenger list says he was a shoemaker. He and his children who were part of the group who left Manitoba for Elgin. county, and the Talbot Settlement in Ontario are my ancestors. Later in Elgin co., no less than 4 Donald Gunns are to be found who are first cousins -- to confuse matters further, there were 2 Donald A Gunns. However, there was a different Donald Gunn who remained at the Red River Settlement. He was reputed to be a botonist and went on to be one of the first members of the Manitoba Legislature. I'm typing this from memory which is why it's so sketchy. Hope it helps. Joan Wilton
