    3. Hi Have only just learned that at Inchcape, Rogart, there was an Alexander MACKAY, born circa 1790 who married Ann SUTHERLAND. Ann is the daughter of John SUTHERLAND and Kate FRASER. Alexander could be the son of Neil MACKAY and Christina MATHESON who were also at Inchcape. Does anyone know this family? Can anyone help prove that Alexander is the son of this Neil?     3. Hello I am also researching an Alexander McKay, possibly father of my gg grandfather, James Rose McKay born 1819-1822. The family bible, which I have not sighted but been given information from, states that James' father was Alexander and mother Ann nee Sutherland. Supposedly Ann died in 1826 and Alexander in 1852 - I am presuming in the parish of Dornoch. James Rose McKay emigrated to Canada in 1832.
