The many responses sent directly to me have been unanimously in favor of the proposal. So, here's the plan: As I complete the list of persons named in a chapter, I will email it to SCT-SUTHERLAND-L@rootsweb.com for all to see. Then, I'll start to work on the next chapter. Please, be patient. It is a fairly thick book. The book is not a directory. It does not contain the names of everyone who lived in the area. Rather, it is a collection of remembrances about Sage's childhood and early adult life, stories that he had heard, people who impressed him and, very often, their relatives. Since Sage and his father were ministers, many of the people he mentions were ministers, elders, teachers, his own relatives or well-to-do parishioners, in addition to school mates and some of the more colourful locals ... and lots of Grants, Gordons, Rosses, Sutherlands, Frasers, McKays .... More soon.
