Hello, The William, brother of Hector, I mentioned had recently moved to Hamilton, Ontario, from Nova Scotia. He came to buy a mill. As fate would have it, he arrived in 1848 during a cholera epidemic. He and many of his family were placed in a mass grave in Hamilton. His widow and the others walked to Embro (60 miles) where she learned there were several people from Sutherland. Her life was documented in the local paper with a half page obituary. She died in the late 1800's. Two of her sons became woodworkers and had a shop in Embro. Hector emigrated to New Zealand with the reverend Norman MacLeod.
