    1. Re: [SUT] Pre-clearance village - Blaid
    2. Tom Thanks very much. That is very helpful. Copies of the extracts would be very welcome as I hope to visit the area again next week. I will be looking at the area round the now abandoned 'modern' house with great interest. For the record, my geat great grandfather and mother (Kerr and Janet Armstrong) lived at Mussel (now part of a cowshed!), my GG grandfather and mother (William Grant and Mary Armstrong) married there and my grandfather (Donald) was born there. My GGF/M then moved up to the shepherd's house at the modern Allnabad (now roofless and abandoned except by sheep) which stands on or close to the site you describe. A daughter (Janet) was born there before the family moved to Freisgill south of Whiten Head. Details at http://members.aol.com/donjgrant.
