I notice that there was another Donald Munro born in the Parish of Durness in 1805. Baptised at the West Moine Mission on Oct 14, 1805 was Donald Mackay Munro, son of James Munro and Mary Munro. No occupation given for the father, James. West Moine is east of the Town of Durness, the area in the vicinity of Loch Hope/Eriboll. I think. While the marriage of James Munro and Mary Munro is not recorded in my transcript of the Durness OPR, I do have some other extracts which show a marriage on Dec 20, 1804 and another on Dec 6, 1805. I have: Donald Munro (sailor) born Durness 1805 married Jean McKay 1828 in Durness. Jean was daughter of Hugh McKay (shepherd). Donald appears to have been the son of Alexander Munro (tailor) and Katharine Morrison but that has not been verified. The name Alexander is not present in any of his children.
