Hi Claire, I'm sorry but I could not find any of them. Regrettably, the page on which "one r" Morisons should be listed did not print properly so that is a possibility that someone with a C&R book could check. I do not know whether Balnakeil would have any lair records for that time period, or at all, but that might be worth pursuing. Otherwise, there are a couple of other cemeteries in the area but I do not have anything on them. Others might. Incidentally, my cousin, Frank Morrison, lives at Laid (he went there from Durness in the last 20 years, I think, so we are probably not related) so if you can't find anything through the list, I can write to him and ask where people from Laid are likely to be buried. There are 3 that I know for sure died at Laid, Durness. Hughina Gunn - died 28/01/1923 Age 94 (Wow!) Barbara Morrison - died 1906 Age 42 John Morrison - died 1892 Age 40 If you need to know any other details such as next of kin, cause of death, place/date of birth, then please let me know. Hughina was an unmarried crofter who was the mother of Barbara Morrison (nee Falconer). Barbara married John Morrison. John was a fisherman. I don't know, but I guess they must have been quite poor, so they probably don't have gravestones. Thanks again Claire Atkinson (nee Morrison!)
