Christine - In your Murrays, do you have any information on Ann Murray who was married to Henry Sutherland, probably about 1800 in the Dornoch area? We are particularly interested in learning more about their daughter Euphemia (born 1807). We have a Euphemia Sutherland who married William Sutherland in Oxford Co., Ontario, in 1833. We believe they both came from Sutherlandshire. Euphemia (Effy) and William's children (in order): Barbara, Isabelle, John, Ann, Henry and Alexander. Isabelle married William Geddes who emigrated from Rogart prior to 1851, and they became my husband's great-grandparents. We haven't been able to find anything on William Sutherland's parentage and/or siblings either beyond dates of birth (1808) and death (1858) shown on his gravestone. Euphemia's name is also on the stone, but any information was obscured when the stone was set in cement and we have been unable to locate any written records for Old Log Kirk. We believe Euphemia died sometime between son Alexander's birth (1846) and the 1851 census when William was listed as a widower. Thanks for any assistance.
